Happy, ever so premature May 1st, and what a full day it is, in the northern hemisphere it is an ancient traditional festival marking the start of summer, and around the world it is International Workers Day and certainly for those that have gardens there is plenty of work that can be done in the veggie patch this month.
Please see below a guide to some of the things you can be planting in May, and around Australia staples like broad beans, kale, leafy greens, onions, peas, radish, spinach, turnips and cornflowers can all be planted, as well as many other veg and flowers depending on your location.
It’s always good to hear from our customers and we have been getting in plenty of photos, so I thought I might start to share some as seeing the frames in action around the country is always a delight, including this one that has been used to cover a raspberry patch in Hobart – looks well protected thank you Jacinta. Please keep them coming, as I would like to keep sharing.
Workers of the World, Unite!
As Gardeners United, we Stand.
Enjoy!
