All plants need sun, but some more than others, and you need to bear this in mind when setting up your garden beds.
Large, leafed veggies like cabbage and silverbeet don’t need as much, (but love it regardless whenever it is around), but most other veggies will struggle, stretch and become lanky weaklings without the sun, which makes for poor eating and means they can be vulnerable to getting infection and passing it around.
As seeds in the ground, the suns location is not such as issue, but once they germinate it’s the morning sun they need, not afternoon sun, no matter what plant it is. Some will do better than others, but for most veggies, morning sun is best.
In small spaces this can be a challenging, but that is why using pots is a good idea, so you can wheel them around and follow the sun.
Everyone chases the sun, and I am hoping to see some soon myself.
Enjoy!
